After 20 years of marriage -- and 20 years of wearing her wedding band -- Amanda was ready to update her classic diamond band into something more fun to wear.
Amanda wanted her newly redesigned band to stack well with her diamond solitaire ring (which we were not redesigning) but she also wanted her new, fun ring to be something she could wear all on its own. Additionally, Amanda wanted us to use the diamonds from her old ring and incorporate them into the design for her new ring.
initial sketches
Because the new ring was going to be fairly simple, we really wanted to pay close attention to the details to make sure this ring was different and exciting. We played around with different settings for the diamonds and Amanda ended up choosing the cut-down setting, the most minimal and delicate setting.
Rhino modeling
Because we were using the diamonds from Amanda’s old ring, we had to make sure that these diamonds would fit properly into the setting of the new ring. The Rhino modeling allows us to make sure of this before we ever even make the ring castings.
Casting
When we got the casting for the new ring, we knew that the existing diamonds would all fit perfectly into our new design and that we had enough metal to make the new ring.
The finished jewelry
Amanda loved how the ring was simple but still had lots of little details that made her new ring different and unique. She can’t wait to wear it both with her solitaire diamond as well as all on its own. Here’s to another 20 years!
