Mette came to us with a ring that was missing its center diamond. She brought along a new asscher cut diamond and an extra gold piece featuring nine princess diamonds. Mette was referred to us by her sister, Sophie, one of our earliest clients who has been thrilled with her own diamond ring. Mette shared that her original diamond engagement ring was sadly stolen a few years ago, leading her to custom-make a pear-shaped diamond ring with the surrounding diamonds. Unfortunately, she lost the center pear-shaped diamond, and without insurance, she couldn't replace it. To recreate her engagement ring, she decided to use a lab-grown asscher cut diamond.
Sketches
Mette wanted her new ring to be a standout piece that she could wear for both special occasions and everyday events. She envisioned a geometric design to complement the asscher cut center diamond and the nine princess cut diamonds, which have a distinctly geometric shape. This clear vision guided my design process. I provided several sketches, from which we selected two final designs: one with a single princess cut diamond on each side in a bezel setting, and the other featuring two princess cut diamonds on each side. We ultimately chose the first design, opting for one princess cut diamond on each side due to the complexity involved in achieving a multi-dimensional design. Mette also requested that the new ring accommodate her existing diamond eternity band, ensuring there was enough space for stacking.
Rhino modeling
Mette's ring that will stack together
Once we finalized the design details, I began modeling the ring using Rhino CAD. The complexity of the design required careful consideration of numerous structural details and dimensions. The ring featured the center diamond set in claw prongs, four princess cut diamonds in bezel settings, nine round diamonds set in bead settings, and round diamonds on the shank as well. It was a detailed process, but eventually, I completed the Rhino CAD model.
Casting
Following that, we moved to the casting stage. The initial outcome looked promising, but the true test would come once all the diamonds were set and the ring was fully assembled. Thankfully, everything came together beautifully, resulting in an amazing and exquisite ring.

New ring on our happy customer
When Mette's husband came to pick up the completed ring, it was heartwarming to hear him speak lovingly about Mette and their relationship. I felt truly honored to be part of their journey and to create this new ring for them. After they received it, Mette sent me several stunning photos of her wearing her new ring, and it looked absolutely beautiful on her finger.
