Laura has always been fascinated by the Evil Eye imagery, the concept that one can ward off bad thoughts -- or even curses -- with this traditional imagery.
Laura knew she wanted a piece of jewelry of her own with this design so she went through her own belongings to find a collection of gold jewelry and a large, centerpiece diamond from an old pendant that she could incorporate into a redesign that would fit her vision of the ring that she wanted for self-protection.
With the source jewelry of precious gold and a substantially-sized diamond, we wanted Laura to receive a custom-made piece that was both delicate and fearless.
Sketch and CAD design
Evil Eye pendants are usually small and delicate, an often-personal ward against dark thoughts, ideas, and any other superstition the wearer chooses to consider.
While we wanted the Evil Eye design to shine we also wanted the piece to function as a diamond ring in and of itself.
Laura loved this sketch we created that made the center of the eye out of the diamond -- both highlighting her ring as personal “armor” and showcasing her beautiful diamond.
Once we decided on this sketch, we mocked it up in a CAD design and set to casting the ring with the repurposed gold jewelry and setting the diamond in a prong setting.

Final ring
Laura was so happy with her ring that was both-diamond forward as well as fully evoking the evil eye. Laura even sent us a gift of this evil eye postcard. Thanks Laura!
