Before and After

THE REDESIGN CHALLENGE:

Catharine had this opal bangle bracelet custom-made for her years ago but found that she was not wearing it. Instead of creating another bracelet, Catharine wanted to play around with the trend of mismatched earrings. Catharine loved that this trend is both incredibly contemporary but also fun and a bit zany!

THE REDESIGN PROCESS:

We came up with a bunch of different sketches for the asymmetrical earrings. Some of them included a spiral dangle but Catharine chose a design that included one long drop earring with her opal still in its bezel setting with the other earring also featuring her opal in its original bezel setting but as a shorter drop earring with a hoop detail on a stud base.

Some design options (l) and the final design chosen by Catharine (r)

Because we were able to use Catharine’s original stones and settings, she was able to save on the costs of her new custom-made earrings.

THE REDESIGN REVEAL:

Catharine loved her stylish but playful redesigned and custom-made jewelry. Now she knows that both sides are her best side!
